Walt Disney Jr. is giving away free trips and money!

Walt Disney and Bill Gates have joined forces to give away 1300 cash prizes and 13,000 free trips to Disney World. Why? To test a new piece of software. The software supposedly tracks the path of e-mail messages.

Why is it a hoax?

  • Mathmatics: Let's say the average trip to Disney World costs about $2,000. The message promised to give away 13,000 trips and 1,300 cash prizes of $5,000. 13,000 x 2000 + 1300 x 5000 = 32.5 million dollars. There are cheaper ways to test software.
  • Email tracking: It's simply not possible to track the path of an email message.
  • Walt Disney never had a son. He had two duaghters and neither of them is called Walt.
  • The message has been in circulation since August 1998. You're not likely to be one of the first 13,000 now.

Why should I believe you?
